In the layering of recycled bits of stained paper, found materials, powdered metals, watercolor and acrylic paint, Carol unveils fragments of an inner world of memories and imagination, while allowing the viewer wide room for interpretation.
Born and raised in central Illinois, Quell earned her BFA and MFA from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. She taught classes at Bradley University and Illinois Central College as well as conducting many workshops in watercolor and mixed media in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and at many central Illinois art centers.
Her work has been exhibited at Bradley University, Western Illinois University, Olivet Nazarene University, Eureka College, Mitchell Art Museum, Springfield Art Museum, Exhibit A Gallery, Galesburg Civic Art Center, Peoria Riverfront Art Museum. and in Laramie, Wyoming and Germany.
